Ariel Square Four 1947

£15,495.00

Colin Reed-Aspley is the country‘s leading go-to Ariel Square Four restorer and enthusiast. He also happens to be a really good friend of mine to living just down the road from me.

When Colin wanted his perfect Arial Square Four it had to be as per the 1947 spec iron engine model.

This in his opinion was the sweetest running and also the most attractive, especially when you look at the chrome tank and then tank instruments too.

Colin also wanted the Anstey-link suspension. Don’t forget this is a bike that he wanted for himself , to build his perfect machine so everything is 1947 except the frame which is of the 1953 Anstey Link variety.

That’s the machine we have here, Colin’s own personal transport.

Having covered more than 10,000 miles on this very machine Colin once again stripped the motor and completely rebuilt it. The bores were checked and new rods were fitted which are sometimes the Square-four Achilles heel. New bearings have been fitted throughout together with valve guides the lot.

An improved camshaft has been fitted with quieting ramps, together with a high flow capacity Morgo oil pump.

Electronic ignition has been fitted for instant trouble-free starting.

Colin has covered just 1000 miles from this most recent rebuild and having ridden this very machine myself I can vouch for its wonderful riding experience.

These bikes really can go from 10 to 70 miles an hour quite easily in just top gear such is their flexibility and torque. I can also confirm that this machine is actually very comfortable on the currently awful roads of Derbyshire.

A truly wonderful and unique machine that will give its new owner much pleasure and also we are talking point within knowledgeable circles
