This 1965 Yamaha YM1 sport is a very rare beast indeed. Being 305 cc and the first of the Autolube models, this bike would’ve been a revelation in the mid 60s and a real giant killer.
Previously owned by the legendary Alan Millyard, the bmachine is in excellent all-round condition both cosmetically and mechanically as you would expect, and is very original too.
The bike has had a light restoration with new tyres, chain, sprockets, engine rebuild, etc but overall it’s pretty much as it left the factory.
The mileage shows just 2527 and looking at the bike overall that could well be original but that’s just my opinion.
The original owner’s manual, together with period road tests and parts book are all present and I have some spares such as a clutch.
Overall this is a very attractive and unusual machine with great pedigree and I’m certain that the new owner will enjoy this bike immensely.
