I rode my first Matchless Twin when I was 14.
My dad used to take me on some lanes and let me blast away and I was in my element!
I had my first Matchless of my own when I was 17 in 1977 and I’ve had them ever since I’m in the A.J.S Matchless owners club so I think I’ve got a feel for them by now!
This particular example is a Matchless G12 and in 1962 all the range were given names, this example’s being the ‘Majestic’.
The later models had many improvements including the 12V alternator coil ignition on this particular example.
Being completely restored by its previous owner some 88 miles ago, the bike still needs to be run in and given some shakedown miles.
The original registration documents are present and show that the bike was delivered new and sold by Fowlers of Bristol in 1962.
The history file that comes with the bike is impeccable.
The bike is an easy starter with its 12V ignition, the alternator charges the battery very well and overall the bike is very good.
Difficult to find in this condition now with such providence, the bike is priced reasonably at £4,395.00
