After the noisy, smoky two strokes of the early to mid 70s, Kawasaki needed to develop motorcycles that were a little more responsible and economical. Enter the Z400 and 750 twins which were Kawasaki‘s version of the acceptable face of motorcycling.
The Z400 or KZ 400 as it was in America, proved very popular being easy to manoeuvre and offering good all-round performance. In fact in the giant test of 400 cc machines in Bike magazine August 1976, the Z 400 reach the top speed of almost 99mph as opposed to the KH 400’s 100mph so just over 1 miles an hour slower than the fiery 2 stroke….
This particular machine is in exceptional original condition showing just 2920 miles! There’s no way of knowing if this is genuine. However in my own view, it probably is but that’s just my opinion.
The original and hard to find Exhausts a present and in great condition, as are all other aspects of the bike, chrome, paint work, alloy, everything.
The bike has had a light refresh in the last few years with the paint being finished to a very high professional standard. I also believe that a new seat cover has been fitted.
There is supporting paperwork for this work and would you believe the bike has also been Dyno tested with all of the results evident!
A real must for the avid Kawasaki collector, this would complement any collection I’m sure.
