BMW R60 1962

£7,895.00

Nowadays, BMW motorcycles are very popular and a common sight on our roads. However in 1962, things are very different.

Seen as a real gentleman’s steed, the BMW was extremely expensive at £455…to put this into perspective a brand-new BSA twin was just over half that!

This particular example was in Germany for many years and started life as an R50 but like many were upgraded to 600cc or the R60 Spec.

In the UK the bike’s  long-term owner of one of our technicians, Colin Reed-Aspley. The bike has naturally been very well looked after and there is some history available. Recently, new tyres and rear silencer have been fitted.

In Colin’s ownership and use, the only thing that has ever failed was an advance spring! but this is a testimony to the wonderful quality of this BMW motorcycles.

I’ve had a few test rides on this very machine and can report that it performed very well, starting easily from either hot or cold and was a surprisingly brisk performer!

With the optional prop stand fitted, it is quite an easy bike to ride and also caused quite a stir wherever I went!

Ready for the new owner to ride or show, the bike is priced very competitively at £7,895.00
